We regret to inform you that from Thursday 14th November 2019 we have had a temporary list suspension. Please see this letter for full details.
We will continue to register newborn or adopted babies of parents already registered at the practice, first degree relatives of patients already registered at the practice who are living at the same address within our boundary, and patients from the care homes that we look after (details available on request).
Due to an unexpected and unprecedented demand for new registrations, we feel that continuing to register new patients could potentially jeopardise our ability to provide safe care to those patients already registered at the practice.
Please note that the practice is not able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.
Once Park Practice is able to commence accepting NHS registrations, this information will be available at reception and on the practice website.
If you are not currently registered with a GP surgery and are finding it difficult to locate one, please call East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group on 0300 131 4425 (based at Bexhill Hospital) and speak to the Primary Care Team.
We are in discussion with the Clinical Commissioning Group to resolve this situation as quickly as we can, and we are sorry for any inconvenience.
Please find the CCG’s website details below, which allows patients access to further information, an electronic allocation form and contact details, to help ensure that allocation and registration as quickly as possible:
www.eastsussexccg.nhs.uk/your-care/finding-a-local-nhs-service/help-for-patients-if-a-gp-practice-has-suspended-new-registrations/Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept new patients who live outside of our practice area.
If you are currently registered with the practice and move out of our catchment area, you will need to register with a surgery that covers the area you live in.
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
There are now many ways in which you can seek help. Before considering asking us for help, please consider the variety of self-help resources listed here, including your community pharmacist, services you can refer yourself to and the online access routes. If you still need routine help, you can ring us on 01323 502200. For infection control reasons, during the COVID-19 pandemic, please do not come to the surgery to book an appointment
Tests & Results
Blood Tests / Urine / Stool Sample Test results will normally be available 7 days after the sample has been handed in/taken. Please note that we can only access test results after 2.15pm.
Results from investigations undertaken at the DGH (e.g. X rays / scans) will not normally be available for 3-4 weeks after the investigation. Again, we can only give these out after 14:00. If the Clinicians are in any way concerned about test results, they will contact you as soon as they view the result.
If any tests (x-rays, scans or blood tests etc.) have been requested by hospital personnel (even if the test was completed at the surgery) the result will go back to the requesting clinician.
Our reception staff are not qualified to comment on results but will be able to tell you if the doctor has seen them and and whether or not they would like to discuss the result. It is, however, your responsibility to check this and make any necessary follow-up appointments.
Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them
Please always allow 4 working days between requesting the script and collecting it; please allow 5 working days if the script is being sent to a pharmacy.
We can arrange for prescriptions to be sent directly to most pharmacies in the area and if you want your medication delivered you need to contact the pharmacy direct to enquire if they offer this service.
You can put your request in writing and deliver it to the surgery.
You can ask your pharmacy to request your medication.
We do not accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.
If you are aged over 16 years old and you are registered for Online Services (Patient Access or the NHS app) you can order your medication online via the NHS App or Patient Access.
You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or on the HMRC website. If a certificate is required before 7 days, there will be a charge which you can pass on to your employer if they insist on a certificate earlier than one week.
